The Lance Armstrong Foundation has teamed up with Steamboat Springs to bring a nationally known fundraiser for cancer research and awareness to Steamboat Springs: Steamboat Ride 4 Yellow. The Ride 4 Yellow event is one out of only 4 partnered events with the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
The Steamboat Wine Festival takes place the same weekend as Ride 4 Yellow. The event
is fast becoming one of Colorado’s most popular summer events, attracting nearly 3,000 attendees, over 100 wineries from all over the world, and top-notch chefs.

The second annual Ride 4 Yellow mountain bike event will be held Aug. 7, 2011, at the Steamboat Ski Area. The Divide Ride is an epic 26-mile ride on pristine singletrack across the Continental Divide.* The Divide Trail is considered one of the most spectacular mountain bike rides in the Rockies. It begins at 10,000-foot Dumont Lake on Rabbit Ears Pass just outside of Steamboat and winds along the Continental Divide with more than 26 miles of singletrack that eventually lead up and over the backside of Mount Werner and into the Steamboat ski area. The ride finishes at Thunderhead. *The Ride 4 Yellow course is subject to change based on weather and snow conditions at the time of the event in August. Riders will be notified as soon as possible about any course changes.
The finish area overlooking the beautiful Yampa Valley also will be the scene of the post-ride celebration. A picnic lunch, refreshments, a special keynote speaker and a sponsors expo are just some of the things in store for riders and their friends and families. Stay tuned for more details about the celebration, including how to purchase additional Post-Ride Celebration tickets for non-riders.
Who says you have to be a cyclist to be a part of Ride 4 Yellow? New to this year’s event is the Ride 4 Yellow Ball, a special Friday night affair at beautiful Marabou Ranch featuring food, beverages, live music by Steamboat Springs favorite Loose Change and a silent auction. Tickets sold separately.
Half of the proceeds raised during the weekend event will go directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation for cancer research on a GLOBAL scale.
The remaining half of the proceeds raised during the weekend will directly benefit the LOCAL community of Steamboat Springs for cancer related services. An endowment and donor-advised fund has been established through the Yampa Valley Community Foundation for the purpose of making an impact in cancer related services at the LOCAL level and a goal to reach out and support those community citizens affected, in any form or manner, by cancer.
