The Steamboat Springs Stage Race will be run under stage race format with overall General Classification done by time.
The new Time Trial course will allow full time trial equipment if desired. This mostly flat course includes one turn around and high speeds. The exact details of this course are still pending permits from county and city officials.
Marabou Ranch: This year's circuit race will be a 4.5 mile loop traveling counter clockwise on the beautiful and challenging Marabou Ranch loop road. Racers will climb up county road 42, turn left in the ranch heading over the main climb and then back around for multiple laps with the finish line at the top of the climb. **Please note that Marabou Ranch is a private community and their road is not open to the public for pre riding prior to race day.
The road race will again feature rolling terrain, a few good climbs, and a safe course with lots of volunteers. Riders head West from town on CR-33 past the Twenty Mile Coal Mine followed by a turn around back to the uphill finish. The SM Pro-1-2, SM3 and SM35+ will have an extra leg of climbing towards Oak Creek with major climbs.
The feedback on this course was outstanding! Racers loved the wide streets, safe turns, and spectator friendly course. Identical four corner course for 2010 with plenty of cash primes and time bonuses.
