The summer months in Steamboat Springs are jam-packed with events! For more information about any of these events, or other activities taking places during your visit to Steamboat, please contact ResortQuest's concierge.
- June 19 - August 22, 2009: Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series
Watch the old west come alive! The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series features the best cowboys in Colorado and Wyoming on the baddest bulls and horses. Kids events too. All rodeos start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturady evenings, except the 4th of July rodeo which starts at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy a BBQ and entertainment beginning each night at 6pm. All rodeos are at the Romick Arena in downtown Steamboat Springs. Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for children. Kids 6 and under are free.

The first race of the 2008 Steamboat Springs Running Series. 10K and 5K run/walk.

The graduation ceremony for the Steamboat Springs campus will be held at 11am.

- 23-24: Yampa River Festival in conjunction with Paddling Life Pro Invitational
- 25: Third Annual Paddling Life Pro Invitational
Watch the best men & women kayakers in the world compete in a one:day, two:event competition for a cash purse and year:long bragging rights! The event will be followed by a party at Sunpies Bistro featuring local bands, beer and other surprises.
- 30: Home and Garden Expo: 10:00am-2:00pm at the Steamboat Grand
- 6: Touch-A-Truck : 10:00am-1:00pm
Touch a Truck is a FREE community event for everyone. Come down to Howelsen Park from 10 am to 1 pm to see a variety of trucks and vehicles on display including fire trucks, busses , dump trucks, four wheelers and even a zamboni! Kids are welcome to check out the trucks up close, sit in the driver’s seat and even honk the horns. This event will go on rain or shine.
- 7: Steamboat Springs Marathon Steamboat Marathon begins at the historic Hahn's Peak Village (elevation 8,128 ft.), which follows a paved country road down the Elk River Valley, and finishes at the courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs (elevation 6,728 ft.)

- 13: Main Street Farmers Market - Every Saturday, June 13- September 12.
Weekly farmers market featuring produce, meats, seafood, artisan breads, cheeses, sauces and mixes, plants, jewelry, arts and crafts. LIVE MUSIC. Hot and cold food vendors. Located on 6th Street next to the courthouse between Lincoln Ave and Oak Street. 9am - 2pm.
- 16-17: Model T Ford Tour
Come see over 120 Model Ts on display at the Holiday Inn. Owners/drivers will share their knowledge of this classic vehicle. Get up close and personal with a part of America's automotive history.
- 18-21: Annual Rocky Mountain Ford Mustang Roundup
More than 450 Mustang owners from Colorado Mustang clubs will convene in Steamboat for the weekend. A variety of great activities including an autocross at the Meadows Parking lot on Friday and a show and shine on Saturday. Free and open to the public.
- 19: Steamboat Ski Area gondola opens - 10am-4pm
- 19-20: Ski Town USA Golf Classic
The Eleventh Annual Golf Tournament and Benefit Auction presented by the Healthcare Foundation for the Yampa Valley and the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club will take place on June 27th & 28th, 2008. This two day fun:filled tournament takes place at Catamount Ranch & Club and Haymaker golf courses in Steamboat Springs.

River Festival Events include the Downriver Race, Salmon Slalom (Colorado's only upstream slalom!), Crazy River Dog Contest, River Gumbo Dinner, Silent Auction, and an incredible Kayak Rodeo that features world class competitors from around the US and the world.

The Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series presents Rusted Root at the Howelsen Hill Amphitheater. The show will start around 5pm with an opening band. There will be food vendors, kids activities and beer sales at the concert. No alcohol or dogs can be brought into the concert.

Join Steamboat locals in a 400 yard dash down mainstreet! Register in front of Lyon Drug on Lincoln Avenue between 9-9:30am the day of the race. The race starts at 9:30am, right before the 4th of July parade. There is a small admission fee at registration.
- 4-5: Annual Cowboys Roundup Days and 4th of July Celebration
For over 100 years, Steamboat has celebrated Independence Day with rodeo : Cowboys Roundup Days celebrates the Western Heritage native to the Yampa Valley with events for the entire family including.

- 11-12: Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo
Steamboat's most colorful weekend; a festival of vibrant colors and art! This is one of the most anticipated weekends of the summer! Join us for this spectacular early morning affair with over 40 hot air balloons rising softly from the mist and drifting over the valley. - 11-12: Annual Art in the Park : 9:00am
This annual arts & crafts fair is held in West Lincoln Park during Rainbow Weekend. Over 140 artisans offer unique, hand-crafted items made from wood, metal, clay, leather, fiber and glass PLUS fine art, jewelry, sculpture, photography and more! The fair maintains its unique status by limiting eligibility to artists and craftpersons who display work entirely of their own original concept, design & execution. Event highlights include free live entertainment, children's activities, plus a variety of refreshment booths. This event attracts 8,000-10,000 people each year! Admission is free.
- 11-12: 34th Annual Cowpie Classic Rugby Tournament

Two shot gun starts, 18 hole scramble open to women and men! The Strings Guild presents the High Country Kitchen & Garden Tour featuring some of the best Steamboat has to offer in innovative kitchen design and exquisite high altitude gardening. Unique & high:end Silent Auction items will be available for bidding. VIP tickets will afford holders with private transportation and a delicious lunch. 18: Tour de Steamboat - 7:00am
The Tour de Steamboat is a non competitive, supported road bike ride. With 3 exciting cycling routes, including the 110 mile Classic Tour de Steamboat! The "Family Friendly" Yampa Valley Core Trail route is free, and features a lemonade stand & stops at playgrounds, the river, and more. The weekend begins with a benefit dinner with a silent auction supporting the Sunshine Kids Foundation. The ride begins and ends at Little Toots park on 12th & Yampa.

- 31: Steamboat Free Concert Series - Freddy Jones Band - The Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series presents the Freddy Jones Band at the Howelsen Hill Amphitheater. The show will start around 5pm with an opening band. There will be food vendors, kids activities and beer sales at the concert. No alcohol or dogs can be brought into the concert.
- July 30-Aug.2 : 5th Annual Steamboat Wine Festival
The Steamboat Wine Festival continues the tradition of celebrating the senses! The event features wine seminars & wine maker's dinners throughout the weekend. The Kickoff Reception is held on Thursday night at the top of the Gondola at Thunderhead : drink fine wines paired with exquisite foods! On Friday, the Stroll of Steamboat will have patrons & their glasses meandering through downtown Steamboat sampling over 400 wines and food at a variety of locations. Saturday features the Grand Tasting at the Torian Plum Plaza!

- 7-8: 5th Annual Wild West Relay
The Wild West Relay is a 195-mile team relay race in Colorado designed for runners of all abilities! The relay begins by the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins, and finishes in the beautiful resort community of Steamboat Springs. Much of this scenic and remote course runs through National Forests or along dirt roads. The route winds through the Roosevelt, Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests, and through small mountain & ranching communities. Contact the organizers at info@wildwestrelay.com.

- 7: Steamboat Springs Relay For Life - 6:00pm
The Relay for Life is an all:night walk to raise funds for cancer research and awareness. Organized teams and sponsored teams must have a walker on the track at all times. Luminaries purchased to honor survivors or victims of cancer illuminate the track. You are urged to bring the family to participate or come out to watch this terrific fundraiser!

This 16 mile run is the longest trail run in the Running Series! Registration fees are $20 in advance - there is no race day registration for this race. Limited to 100 runners! Register online at www.active.com.
- 20-23: Steamboat All Arts Festival -
The Steamboat All Arts Festival is the newest and most collaborative event in Steamboat Springs, CO. The Steamboat All Arts Festival is a four-day event that highlights the amazing arts and culture in the Yampa Valley while featuring nationally-renowned artists. The Steamboat All Arts Festival incorporates all aspects of the arts into one cohesive event including dance, vocal, musical, visual, literary and culinary arts.
- 20: Steamboat Free Concert Series - The Avett Brothers - The Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series presents The Avett Brothers at the Howelsen Hill Amphitheater. Restored & preserved cars, motorcycles, trucks, water & battery powered vehicles abound - here is the perfect chance to dust them off & join a free Thursday night evening cruise from the Stockbridge Transit Center through downtown, to the mountain area, and back to the front of the courthouse for display. - 30: Steamboat Springs Triathlon: 8:00am-12:00pm
In its 5th year, the Steamboat Triathlon returns to beautiful Lake Catamount. With spectacular mountains as a backdrop, triathletes swim 3/4 -mile in beautiful Lake Catamount, ride 20 miles on mostly flat paved roads, and end with a 4-mile run on mixed pavement and dirt roads. Proceeds from this year's event will go to the Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation, benefitting non-profit organizations in the Yampa Valley.
- 4-7: Steamboat Springs Stage Race
Stage racing returns to Colorado for 2009! We have four days of racing planned over September 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th including an individual TT, Circuit Race, Road Race, and Criterium. All stages are located a short distance from downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
- 5-6: Annual Wild West Air Fest : 9:00am-3:00pm
The Wild West Air Fest takes off Labor Day Weekend with the entertainment in the air, on the mountain and all over town! It's a celebration for the whole family featuring vintage/warbird planes, remote controlled aircraft, hang gliders, para:gliders, airplane rides, displays and classic cars at the Steamboat Springs Airport. Wristbands required for admission : $5 for adults, $3 for children 6:12 years old, and children 5 & under are free. Wristbands can be purchased at the Steamboat Springs Visitor Center.

is part of the Rally America National Championship Rally Series.
Racing will occur on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th & 20th, on Routt County roads located around Hayden, Colorado.
